It’s summertime and our calendar is filling up with community outreach events!

This year, Fundy Biosphere Region is joining two local communities at their summer block parties, we are holding our 5th annual garbage swim, and will be joining events other organizations are putting on as well! Love Your Covered Bridges Days: Sawmill Creek (July 26)

Come celebrate NB’s covered bridges during the Love Your Covered Bridges Days events! FBR will have an info booth at the Sawmill Creek Covered Bridge event by Albert County Museum on July 26 from 2-4pm.

5th Annual Garbage Swim (July 30)

Join us for a free swim amongst the pop bottles to experience what it is like for marine animals to live with plastic in their habitat and education about keeping our waterways waste free! This event is sponsored by TransAqua, and we will also be joined by Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance and Eco360 at Riverview’s Lion Ken Gabbey Community Pool at 1:30-3:30pm on Wed, July 30 (rain date: Aug. 6).

 

Albert County Museum Children’s Festival (Aug. 8)

 

Come out to “We Dig Dinosaurs” at Albert County Museum again this summer! Albert the Albertosaurus is back this year from the New Brunswick Museum, along with other fossils to explore and many activities to do throughout the day. Fundy Biosphere Region will be joining on Friday, Aug. 8, from 10am-3pm with some interactive activities for kids and info for families about how to explore Amazing Places in the biosphere!

Sandpiper Festival: Saturday Fun Fair (Aug. 9)

We will have a booth at the Saturday Fun Fair for the 2025 Sandpiper Festival in Tantramar (Dorchester). Check back for updates!

Sikniktuk Climate Adaptation Adventure Days (Aug. 16-17)

 

Would you like the opportunity to explore and learn about the salt marsh along the Chignecto Isthmus between NB and NS? Register for an Indigenous-led adventure day that includes a guided bus trip to several locations, a lunch stop, expertise from environmental non-profit groups, and door prizes!
